BEHIND THE LENS

Maxime's photographs have been published in Vogue, Tatler, and the South China Morning Post. He is the co-author of Hong Kong Shifts: Stories from the Streets of Hong Kong — a published photography book documenting the lives of people who make up the city, with words by Cynthia Cheng.

His approach is documentary in nature: people are photographed in the environments where they actually live and work, not in front of a backdrop. The setting is never incidental — it carries context, atmosphere, and truth that a studio cannot replicate. Natural light where possible, flash when the situation requires it.

Maxime arrived in Hong Kong from Brussels in 2009 and has photographed the city and its people ever since. That familiarity with the place — its neighbourhoods, its light, its pace — shapes how he works with both corporate clients and individuals.
