BEHIND THE LENS

Born in Brussels, Maxime landed in Hong Kong in 2009 to pursue a career as an international lawyer. He was immediately drawn by the energy and fragile beauty of Hong Kong and its people. Maxime's initial interest for street photography quickly expanded to other areas, such as portraits, action shots and event photography, where people are at heart of the action.

In 2019, Maxime co-founded Hong Kong Shifts, the social impact storytelling platform. Maxime is the lead photographer for the project and his pictures are regularly published in the press including the SCMP, HKFP Vogue and TATLER.

Maxime strives to capture the raw candid beauty of its subjects, using only natural light to capture emotions and create a strong visual impact. Simplicity and authenticity are two key principles directing his work.
